Employees Under contract with SOX

I'm not a legal / HR expert however I was wondering if someone out there can bring some light on this question. A SOX employee mentioned to me that quite a few employees are considering leaving SOX however they are concerned that SOX will enforce a clause in their contracts that will prevent them from joining another industry related company for a period of time.The question is: SOX altered these individuals contracts by lowering the SOX RRSP contributions by 50% which really mean they changed their income / salary. Does this mean SOX broke contract and that the contracts are void and for this reason people can argue they are not under contract anymore? I would like to hear what people say.

No.  If you signed a non-competition agreement and your union renegotiated your SOX RRSP contributions and the majority of employees agreed to it, you can't quit and work for the competition if you were part of the minority that disagreed with the cut.
