Sell the News

Selling the news is usually done when the news is as good as things will get.  It's at the top.  Nothing good left in the pipeline.  Is that actually the case here though?  Have we seen the last of the good news?  Hmmm...I sort of doubt it.  It looks quite encouraging that there are more good holes to come.  But some traders think they can outsmart this market by trading in-and-out on every news release.  To that I say good luck because one of these news releases just may already be built into the market.

This company will be bought out, long before the final drill hole is made. I see around $9.50 in the near future,so do the majors, the key is the total potential lbs. and when the first offer is made

Re: Bridgetonowhere I can't speak for others but my selling of AMW was not meant to "trade in and out or to gamble on a few pennies". I basically "took out an insurance policy" by selling AMW and buying more FIS. This way, I still get to remain invested in PLS and in Waterbury and also (most likely) pickup DMLshares in the process. Personally I believe FIS has a better ...more

NUCLEAR do you really understand what is going on at PLS??? The first part of the news release says it all. The holes today are from the land not the lake, and these holes now become the highest scint off-scale readings over the widest intercepts of same, on land at the original discovery area. This was refered to as a bonus area when discovered. Some bonus area, don't you think? Read this ...more

Either way we all win, so I hope you're right Nuke!

You don't need to sell me on the great results....I'm convinced but as I stated previously, as a FIS shareholder I'm still invested in PLS (just like you) but I've spread my risk by also being in Waterbury and probably DML next month. Where takeovers are concerned, I'm sure even you would agree that the likelihood of someone buying out ONLY AMW to get their hands on the ...more

I think no one would doubt your logic. It comes down to PLS and how much leverage you want. I disagree that a competing bid for FIS would not be good for AMW. If someone came in for FIS, it clearly would have been spurred by PLS, and whatever the competitor paid (assuming it's a premium, which is the only reason FIS would sell), it would translate directly into AMW's valuation and AMW ...more

I don't want to beat this topic to death but I'm not saying that a bid for FIS would not benefit AMW. Although a bid for AMW only means you're getting 50% of PLS while a bid for FIS gives you 50% of PLS, the Waterbury asset and shares in DML which is also a future takeover target....end of discussion (Thanks for the insight anyways)>

@NUCLEAR - My posting wasn't a response to anybody's personal trading activities but instead mostly an observation of the markets reaction to news releases.  (good news releases because we haven't had any bad ones).  I'd also add that compared to the earliest releases, the "sell the news" reaction is less pronounced and more muted than it was.  That may be ...more
