Steve Angelo!

Warning for investors: Beware of pennystocks like GOLD X If you are thinking about investing in gold-silver or resource pennystocks, be careful. The vast majority of pink sheets and pennystocks with five letters in the ticker will never become commercial mines. Rather, these stocks are traded to generate money for the owners as well as to pull off a pump and dump for websites and initiated investors.  There is a stock called GOLD X that is currently being touted. I would not buy this share even if I were given money to buy it. GOLD X, formerly known as Sandspring Resources, did an 8:1 reverse split (reverse stock split), driving its share price above $2 on the Canadian Stock Exchange. When a company changes its name and does an 8:1 reverse split, it means it is poised to screw over a new group of losers. And of course it will get a new group of losers to invest in, because every day a new loser is born.  So if you want to throw your money down the drain for the chance to strike gold with a penny stock, GOLD X is an excellent candidate. However, you would be much better served buying physical gold and silver than wasting your time on worthless penny stocks.  Steve St Angelo (SRSrocco)

Obviously someone that knows nothing about GLDX.  That being said, he's right that most exploration plays go no where.  But when you get it right, it can be a 5/10/20x.  In the case of GLDX, they are further along in defining what they have (and they have a nice deposit, then it's a question of taking it from PEA to PFS to DFS) so you're looking for a 5-10x, but it' ...more

I'v held the stock for about 5 years and have an 80% gain.  This is not spectacular, but it is steady eddie growth.  I'm holding for the eventual buyout, which most investors expect. With regards to Angelo's statements: 1)  Gold X is not a penny stock.  It trades for around $3 USD and $4 CAD.  Only old-timers who yearn for the days of the NYSE stock trades to ...more

Heywood Silver always nice to see you out there. I have held this stock I think `10 years" and am down I think 30% have not checked recently. The thing you have to realize they started promoting this thing as Sandspring right when the finiancial crisis started sucking everything out of the stock market and  especially mining stocks......It had to go into hibernation and just exist ...more
