Based on this, we see that Rogers will pick up more than half the tab.  I guess Rogers wants in badly, and Bell seems happy enough to be gaining $95 million cash on the deal.  Nothing to suggest that the loss of the Target stores will be problematic for completion.  Waiting on the competition bureau.

1. After BCE funds the $297-million cash portion of consideration on the Glentel transaction, BCE’s net cash position will in fact improve by $95-million, so their liquidity and financial position will be strengthened as a result. Meanwhile, the discount in the share price keeps increasing and now at almost 10% and still going down. I don't understand what the delay is and why there should even be this delay given the 50/50 split situation, nothing changes. Why should copmpetition approval take this long? The deal was announced on Nov 28th, we are now February 20th with not one peep. In addition to the discount we' ...more

Thank you Poerknniffer for your cocern. I am not worried at all. When there are few purchasers and competition is really tough, deal takes time. Here origanal purchaser will make real money in this deal. BEL  will make approx  95 million in this deal and will pay only 50% of purchase price so total gain is 292 million plus 95 million= $387 million , so it is in their best interest to ...more
