30% is correct
basis = 100 * 14% = 114
new basis is 114 * 14% = 129,96
you need to calulate the other 14% from the "new basis".

The math works for GEN1 being 14% stronger than benchmark graphite and then GEN2 being 14% stronger than GEN1. But you don't get that second 14% based on the information presented in the graph of yesterday's news release, nor do you get that direct 30% based on the information presented in the graph.
