Does Yahoo! own SH?

Yahoo! Finance made similar changes to its MB last year and had similar results:

1. Everyone hated the changes.
2. Reduced the number of postings and exchanges of meaningful info and opinions.
3. Drove away posters and readers, who were frustrated with the new format.

One poster said that the changes were geared towards the mobile market as opposed to folks like me who use a desktop.  From my observations, there weren't any newbies that join the discussions because the MB was now more mobile-friendly ... only fewer postings by the regulars.

Now, this piece of cha-cha.  Why do we need to have a photo shot to be seen with each post in the thread?  Why only threaded postings? 

Will SH ever let it be known what the volume drop in postings is?  Or, is that what they want?
