All Glencore wants is the material which they then sell on via their marketing department hopefully at a higher price. But yes you are correct that they would also make money off loan interest. 

TBH I am not sure how valuation of their underlying KAT shareholdings is reported in their financials.  Curious if anyone has any insight into this?
