Katanga mining next year will contribute to Congo the amount equal to half of Congo 2018 mining revenue. Katanga mining production is absolutelly critical to Congo and her people. Dissolve KCC by Gecamines? That is bluffing!

Since when do Congolese  presidents and civil servants ever care about long-term benefits or the "state" and its people?  They only serve themselves... and their personal wallet = short-term focus. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-congo-politics/congo-ruling-party-shows-all-signs-of-seeking-kabila-third-term-idUSKCN1IU284 He simply replaces the judges...anywhere ...more

They do not have the other choice.  They do not have the money.  They do not have the mining experitises including technologies and skills. Just look at Gecamine past and current performances, it is basically a bankrupt company.  If they could invest and run the mining operation by themselve, they would do that long ago.  They were there before, and it did not work.
