Is there hope for KGIC inc?

I have lost 80% of my money thanks to KGIC inc. I should have sold at $.08, I am afraid that this company will go bankrupt and unless someone buys KGIC inc and turns this corporation around. But who would invest couple of million dollars unless they have some other motives? These ESL schools may seem profitable with high tuition prices but with 30% to 40% commissions to agencies, no wonder they are always looking for new funding from outside.

the commissions are paid in the home country of the student. the student NEVER pays a dime to LRN directly. The agent hold the tuition for quite some time until the student has arrived and completed the cooling off period. In some cases much later. The agent has all the power in a relationship with a bottom end school that pushes quantity over quality.

30% is pretty standard with a good school. International trade magazines have been reporting on KGIC's woes since last year, so they are only receiving referrals from unprofessional agents who demand higher commission rates and withhold the fees as long as possible.  The word was that they were paying 70% to Uhak.com and Kim Okran. I don't know if that is still the case.

It's not easy to set up a good satellite office. You need someone who is smart, inexpensive and will work effectively, with almost no supervision. I've only done it properly with one individual in my long career and it just lasted a couple of years. With language schools, comission is almost always calculated on the total tuition fee, regardless of the length of the program. Yes, 30%+ of  ...more

For the record, I will start off by saying that yes, I am an ex-employee of Loyalist (before they became KGIC Inc.) and I will put my 2 cents in.    I know that I will be admonished for being a "bitter ex-employee who probably is angry I lost my job" and truthfully, I am pissed off with the way this company has been run.  Every CEO that comes in lays off more people in ...more
