RE:Equity bold I have never really dug into the accounting but my guess is that all monies put into a project are capitalized during construction, development, planning and then depreciated when put into production - meaning they start generating income. To a certain extent expensing early on or depreciating later on has the same result although I believe that accelerated depreciation or expensing as incurred lessens the tax burden. Certainly not an accountant....
