nuclear energy in Japan

According to that infallible source, wikipedia, Japan is free from nuclear energy at the moment. The people there do not want it now or forever as they totally distrust what government says regarding safety.
=========================

All Japan's nuclear plants have been closed, or their operation has been suspended for safety inspections. The last of Japan's 50 reactors (
Tomari-3) went offline for maintenance on May 5, 2012,[18] leaving Japan completely without nuclear-produced electrical power for the first time since 1970. Despite protests, on 1 July 2012 unit 3 of the i Nuclear Power Plantwas restarted.[19] In September 2013 i units 3 and 4 went offline, making Japan again completely without nuclear-produced electrical power.[20]

Off shore renewables are in full force in some parts of Britain and continental Europe. This system catches a lot of wind when placed in the right places.   Seimens may be the leading maker I think but this may have changed. Off shore means a premium cost; harder to install, harder to service and exposure to rust is increased especially in salty water.   You also need effective braking ...more
