RE:Omai Gold Mine ready for US$500M investment, 660 permanen

This is getting really, really good.....The outcome of this news is telling us everything that they are foreshadowing within the next 3-5 years for the full production climax.....660 steady mine job is HUGE......building a mill  and getting it all wrapped up cost 100,000s of millions,1200 jobs for the pre production phase alone.....They the  "GGMC"...and  MGD..... know there is more than just a couple millions ounces of high grade gold......The only part i don't like is  the R/S to attract the  financing needed....."Officials said that attention now will be to assess what exactly the gold-rich property has while finalising its restructuring and funding to get the company shares trading again on Canadian Stock Exchange where it has a very diverse shareholder base of private and institutional investors".....nonetheless......whatever it takes i guess, cause i do know that this will be a cash cow....waited this long, what's another 3-5 years.....but......the reward could be mindboggling......GOLD prices will most likely be in stratosphere by then.....My guess we are trading within next 6-9 months.....GLTA

Does anyone know how this is to be restructured?

Just like the last time.  Where all current shareholders just have paper and they rebrand and screw everyone over again.  Start up the hype machine.

I would hope that would not be the case, but why would they want initial investors to se any returns:) Stranger things have happened but I'm not holding my breath.

The original investors that you speak of also include Reynolds and his son, Wekerle and his buddys, as well as the attorney general,  the justice minister and vice president of the country and the former president. I would think the company keeps in mind who got them where they are and who would benefit from  Mahdia Gold. getting on track. I personal spoke with the attorney general and ...more

As much as I’d like to believe that those names are still holding significant amounts of shares, I doubt many of them stuck around all the way to the current rock bottom.  Especially those close enough to know how the operation was run previously and the ones in Guyana.  Maybe someone like Wek who would have held a large enough percentage between himself, his companies, and his family ...more

It will  not be easy raing funds especially with the mismanagenent by Zakhir's  crew. I would think the new management will want to keep the shareholders who remained on side and not throw them under the bus.

Guyana is one of the poorest and most corrupt contries I have ever been to. For that reason you have to grease the right palms and their friends palms. The in country investors could not and likely did not sell shares for tax reasons as some North Americans may have. Sometimes you trade one devil for another and I am not sure but I think the CEO knows who's who now. All we can do is hope for ...more

Who knows. Maybe they will toss a carroit to existing shareholders to restore some confidence. An y idea when they need to come up with the first installment?

I am sorry and feel bad for the spelling errors of my last post. I must always remember to proof read. All i was saying is after the way we have been cheated and lied to by the last ruling body of mahdia i personally have no faith that we will be treated any better in the future

The fact that Michael Smith has been invested since the beginning, and subsequent financings, gives me some hope that previous shareholders won’t be completely screwed.  He’s only holding around 300,000 shares by the looks of it, though.
