I know nothing.Just sitting and waiting like everyone else. Merry Christmas to all. Had a call from a promoter. He wanted me to invest in a private placement. I said I would put is a hundred thousand. He replied, you got to go at least 500,000. I said no way. He said, i CAN'T WASTE MY TIME ON SMALL AMOUNTS AND HUNG UP. My o my, how times have changed. I remember when Ray started Mickly Ds. You could not raise money in the stock market unless you had a decent size company that wanted to go public. When he had a few stores in Chicago he hooked up with the father of a friend of mine. I was a young guy with no money, but I got to see it happen. The father of my friend was the clearing agent for all the Idaho potatoes on the commodity exchange. At that time they did not use frozen french fries, they made them on site. They got all the potato wholesalers in the midwest together and took them to see a store in action. The deal was you put in x amount of money, you get to sell the stores in your area the potatoes and other produce. I knew one of the produce guys real well. He told me, they took us to a store and we watched gobs abd gobs of people come and go. But we all said, 15 cents for a burger. 10 cents for fries, how you going to make any money. Boy o boy did they make money. I asked, did you give them the money. He replied, yeah but only enough to get the deal. I should have given him 10 times more. i had 50 years in the food business and I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS LOOKING AT. He then said to me. The hard part of making an investment is knowing what your looking at. He was right. Later on when I looked back at some of my biggest losers, it was not seeing the changes that were coming into that type of industry in the near future. Best of luck to all.
