The fact the current CEO owns interest in another coffee making business and foundation that sells coffee to raise funds is unexpected. Not saying he is a crook, these could be legit collection attempts for bad accounts. Although the one against BMO ... I don't think he would sue BMO, maybe the other way around.

I quickly checked internet for more details and it appears that several of the cases pre-2008 involved his parents only who are both named in the filings.
In terms of shady, likely 98% of business owners/corporations have some villain in them or at some point will be villified based on egocentric characters and self-serving, avaricious natures.
It's never that surprising when you learn of such rampant corruption issues, particularly among accountants, whether in small business or among the corporate class.
