WHEREAS everyone agrees on the importance of relaunching Nemaska for the purposes of economic development in the Mauricie and Nord-du-Qubec regions;
WHEREAS the offer to sell the assets of Nemaska represents a totally inadequate approach both for the shareholders, owners of Nemaska, and for the relaunch of the company;
WHEREAS 25,000 Quebec shareholders have invested and supported the development of Nemaska for ten years;
WHEREAS Nemaska is an essential company for the economic development of Quebec in the context of the Quebec Electrification Plan;
WHEREAS the Quebec shareholders are the majority in the ownership of the company;
We, the undersigned, ask the Government of Quebec to defend and protect the interests of Quebec families who have supported the Nemaska project since 2010.
