RE:CONFIRMED - Newlox is NOT green - Using Cyanide in Projects!
I challenge anyone to take a quick look on Wikipedia and just briefly read about the Merrill-Crowe process. It's not long, honest. If you come away now knowing that the Merrill-Crowe process uses cyanide leaching to extract gold from ore because it requires gold-cyanide as the feedstock to the process then I think you'll agree with me that Newloxlurker is a tool and his credibility should be judged accordingly.

Merrill-Crowe Process

P.S. I'm sorry Lurker, but you're just wrong because you have it backwards. Electrowinning is the sort of can-use-many-different-solutions process that causes the electrodeposition of metals from solution when under current. Merrill-Crowe is specific to the formation of zinc-cyanide from gold-cyanide through the addition of zinc dust thus allowing the gold to precipitate out; it requires a gold-cyanide solution as the feedstock in the first place. Anything else would not be the Merrill-Crowe process. In chemistry they name 'recipies' like that after the folks who figure them out and you can't just go changing steps. You should have at least looked at the wiki, because you would have then known that from the very first line.

Sadly, my hat remains intact.
