Heck, I think Suncor had its Firebag field costing 15 $/bbl - which was a few years ago.

The breakeven costs for shale are all over the map (though I would agree that 50 is a good estimate for most).

If you look at Wikipedia, it has some decent cost projections (actual production costs, mo development, etc).
