Of course. Aduviri is the regional governor of Puno, where all PLU's claims are located. Since directing "Aymarazo" violent riots against Bear Creek' Santa Ana project he has been considered an anti-mining leader in Peru, and in fact the rumours of his election as Puno regional governor exerted downward pressure on PLU sp in the months previous to the election (October 7th, 2018).

But since his election, Aduviri has moderated his discourse saying that he is not against mining and that all he wants is that the benefits of mining reach the entire population and not only the foreign companies. When asked about PLU's lithium project (Falchani) he has repeated the same over and over again:

1) "It's out of my competence. It depends on the central Government".

2) "It can't be done without the corresponding law" (uranium export legal framework).

3) A referendum (poll) should be fulfilled over the entire population of Puno to decide if the project is approved or not.

On March, CEO Alex Holmes pronounced (1) about this topic in the following terms:

I can now confidently say our lithium project is permittable (community and central government support are key - we have both), Peru is a mining nation, we're meeting with the new regional governor (supportive of economic development in the region by the way) which was seen as an unknown quantity late last year and we are working diligently to continue building that relationship. After a few meetings now, we can say he recognizes the positive impacts we have made being present in the region the last 10 years - presence and continuity can't be under appreciated. Of course, the market is probably looking for a statement from him to counter the blogger commentary and incountry press (which I can tell you without a doubt is good at spinning stories). We're aware this would be good.

I think these "meetings" explain why Aduviri hasn't said a word about PLU's lithium project since Jannuary, but that might change when Falchani figures (PEA) show up in a couple of months and people in Peru turn their attention to this project.
