Let's talk about the OG2.0 and other rotating drums

Has anyone looked into other rotating gardens? I think I've heard from here that there are multiple manufacturers (40?) of these. Do they all comply with Rotogro's patents? Has anyone of these manufactures ever try to dispute the patent?

What's the difference, really, with Rotogro's garden and Omega's?  https://omegagarden.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/FarmPPT.pdf

Isn't it quite interesting? How do those deviate from Roto's design? And if we do lose the case, can we not just adjust it ever so slightly? Doesn't seem like there's much to reeeeally infringe upon.   We should be going heavy right now with going door to door, selling as much as we can, and filling up our war chest. The focus is the same - sell cannabis. We have ...more

Have you guys even read the patent that we are being sued over? It took me 10 minutes of research to see why the Omega doesn't infringe their patent. https://brevets-patents.ic.gc.ca/opic-cipo/cpd/eng/patent/2908184/summary.html On the Description tab, firstly it mentions the Omega patent # as an example of a rotateable garden, and other patents, then in the first sentence is says "In an ...more

If we lose the case we'll be in liquidation, too late to change the design now. What is annoying, is George knew about the pending patent when he made our Orbital gardens. He could have changed a few things to give us a better fighting chance. Instead he just made an almost virtual clone.

The fact is, we only need to infringe 1 of their claims, not all 3. As our machines are manufactured and being used in cultivation means we are infringing the patent if upheld. We are being sued for what we have done, what we do in the future with design changes is irrelevant. LEDs still need heat extraction, they have drivers that get hot & the heat sinks still need to be somewhere in the ...more

Hi Shazam. Botanist is correct - LED lights can produce more heat.  Ever notice the giant heat sinks on the back of them? The globe/glass might no be hot to touch but there's still an enormous amount of heat coming from them which needs to be ventilated through the duct.  & RQB would have to pay a royalty plus legal fees from both sides if RGI decide they want a royalty. I'm ...more

You are correct shazam There is alot less heat being produced in an LED light . Yes the lights do need a heat sink , but the heat produced is not even close to that of a conventional metal halide or tungsten light .

Ahhhh .. but Kurious If RGI loses .. then another story ... millions would be coming back to RQB from RGI , and the JV might be on again. And the SP rises . RQB counter claim would be showing how much the lawsuit hurt the company .. so double edge sword , still waiting to play out .
Comment by rqbshareholder on Feb 02, 2020 4:24pm
Well Howdy With RQB receiving two cease and desist letters that George would of been fully aware that rotogro's next step was to file a lawsuit . So in fact , George would of known about the lawsuit before everyone else . In which case , he could of or didnt tell family and friends to get out . Either side can not justify its case here , which doesnt make the statement wrong . What we know of ...more
