RE: Stymie the Shorts?This has actually been tested with OTCBB stocks in an attempt to prove market manipulation. The company bought all of its own shares and MMs were still selling. They were called to task to explain themselves eventually but for the 1 time they get caught and have to pay back is a small price to pay for the thousands of other successful times they have done it. Typically offshore hedge funds are responsible for naked shorting stocks into the ground and are never held acountable so they keep doing it. Wouldn't you if you could get away with it?
