SIR Royalty Income Fund (the Fund) holds investment in SIR Corp (SIR). The Funds' investment, SIR is engaged in the business of owning and operating full-service restaurants in Canada. SIR has concept restaurant brands, including Jack Astor’s Bar and Grill, Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar, and Canyon Creek Chop House, signature restaurant brands, such as Reds Wine Tavern, Reds Midtown Tavern, Reds Square One, and The Loose Moose, which are used by SIR under a license agreement with SIR Royalty Limited Partnership (the Partnership. The Fund receives distribution income from its investment in the Partnership and interest income from the SIR Loan. The Fund indirectly participates in the revenues generated under the License and Royalty Agreement through its Investment in the Partnership.

You are correct. The ex-div date is tomorrow. So whomever holds the stock tomorrow at close receives the dividend. 

If I sell today to you, those shares do not settle for 2 business days. So even though you have executed the trade, you have not paid for or received my shares. Therefore I receive the dividend on the distribution date. 

I strongly suggest that anyone who doesn't fully understand trade dates and settlement dates contact your broker or investment advisor for clarity as it is very important for income investors or frequent traders. 

People often disagree with me on this board but I challenge any of you to actually pick up the phone and call a professional to get your answer.
