RE:RE:Ex-Div You are correct. The ex-div date is tomorrow. So whomever holds the stock tomorrow at close receives the dividend.
If I sell today to you, those shares do not settle for 2 business days. So even though you have executed the trade, you have not paid for or received my shares. Therefore I receive the dividend on the distribution date.
I strongly suggest that anyone who doesn't fully understand trade dates and settlement dates contact your broker or investment advisor for clarity as it is very important for income investors or frequent traders.
