This is another promotional effort on the back of the recent Uber spend $25 and get a free pan bread. This was obviously very popular as when my family went to Jack's they were out of pan bread! This went down like a lead balloon but at least there was the consolation of robust sales!  Having made 6 figures from Jacks stock in almost exactly one year I can hardly complain!

I bet you enjoyed that meal like few other!  The first 20 or 30k we made may have been a bit of luck, but the roller coaster we rode to this point sure kept the heart pumping! And you guys are a great group to have taken that ride with!

For a sleepy stock, the last year alone provided more entertainment than since inception. Happy to see it worked out for all of us small fry who rode it through. Enjoying the gains, but especially the monthly divs, some of which get poured back into the pot to treat family and friends. Will be interesting to see where we go from here in a year or two... will Renegade re-emerge? Will Scaddabush ...more

A small Montreal chain has just taken itself private - can't recall the name offhand. I would not be at all surprised to see some further consolidation in the industry.  This point is where Fowler can really demonstrate his entrepreneurial chops in my view.  What can he innovate differently to take the brand to the next level? Funnily enough, I think Renegade Chicken could be part ...more

The company was Sportscene group, their flagship brand was a sports bar concept call La Cage. Think Boston pizza that caters specifically to Francaphones.  I don't think Fowler taking this private is an option of any sorts either. If the guy had any free cash available why wouldn't he purchase Sir units when they were in the single digits? Especially when he himself was trying to go ...more

While Renegade lives on with just one location in downtown T.O., I believe it could relaunch again on a bigger stage. SIR still does not have a genuine take-out brand in place and that could very well be the name to launch with, perhaps on a franchise basis that rolls out across the land. It would be a great addition to, and hedge against, an all indoor dining business model. The chicken sandwich ...more

Recipe stepping in with a bid would be beyond shocking to me. Firstly, they tried in the past, and were flatly rejected. If Fower were to sell, I think it would be to anyone but Recipe. Secondly, if Recipe were to step into the market for a large purchase, I am almost certain it would be to pick up the Keg units it does not currently own, this not only makes the most sense business wise but would ...more
