PR Disaster

IMO, this company has mismanaged many things in the past and is currently not being effective on the PR front.  I just read a tweet about Samsung Titen now being 3DGO! compatible...this is absolutely incredible how information is being related to the market...Selling the sizzle is just as important as selling the steak.  So depending on what you are selling, you need to know how to sell it.  Therefore, I adametly believe more effective communication/marketing/branding needs to occur.  I think that will make or break the company, regardless of how many platforms we get on...because 3D IMO needs to sell the sizzle...and all the market hears is white noise!

YoungGun, totally agree and I have been preaching it for A LONG TIME now. We need MARKETING-MARKETING-MARKETING. We can boast and rave about LG-Samsung-Streaming to all devices-Intnl launch but if nobody knows about us what`s the sense. LG and Samsung will never help us beyond promoting our app on their website or some advertising that doesn`t cost them. All the promotions we were to get with ...more

Sailor...you may be on to something.  From your post: Today i visited and mentioned again and within 30 minutes they had downloaded the app and were showing Frozen in the Store and had called two more stores to do the same. They were thankful and kind of dissapointed since many people had asked about it and they were unaware. WE watched it on a 65` Prime 4K UHD Smart 3D webos 2 and it ...more

Wow! So it's come to this! Investors doing SIO's job to put 3DGO on the map! I'm beginning to understand those who accuse us realists of driving down the SP with our observations. Maybe they're right. Maybe we ought to stop complaining and start doing SIO's marketing job for them. Let's all go to our local stores and tell salespeople about 3DGO. Let's create ...more

I agree that the full Samsung launch should ahve been at a minimum posted on their website and on their Facebook page. It boggles my mind at times why the easy, little things are not done. That said, they did launch on time. And that is definitely something to be positive about. As is the upcoming Black Friday and Christmas sales period. Sales will definitely spike, with or without laser ...more

I give management Kudos for building the partnerships to get 3DGO! on respective platforms.  I have no problem giving credit when its deserved.    However, I do have a problem with the lack of acknowledge that mgmt NOT successfully bring 3DGO! to market...even though they tried to under promise and over deliver with the marginal 50K active users.  I think it is time for them ...more

I don't disagree with your post in general, but you are making an assumption when you say, "whatever they are doing isn't working". The only data we have so far is up to the last reported quarter prior to LG (for the most part) and prior to Samsung 100%. While I'm all for making sure we are doing everything we can to market the app, I'll withhold my judgement on the ...more

Hedge, you're right in that we don't have all the info to make a clear assessment; however, I'm trying to point out that the mgmt team has missed their conservative numbers and the growth rate thus far is significantly lacking.  I'm pulling at straws for up to date info so if for example, we focus on facebook likes, the number is disheartening...there's only a bit more ...more

Hey guys, This goes back to exactly the point I was trying to make with the international expansion. Marketing this thing is going to take a lot of efforts - and MONEY. Now, what ever little money is left - and all efforts - are diverted to a European expansion. I still believe that if they ever want to turn this turkey into something, they need to do things right for once:  Spend the time ...more

Clearly not everyone agrees. The Caisse being one. Let's see what the sales stats look like this holiday season and the push into Europe will make much more sense. The big costs have already been spent. Leveraging economies of scale should make entering new markets much less costly and much quicker. There is a small but passionate market for quality 3D. I agree that SIO could do much better ...more

I feel a sense of security knowing that Caisse is in this...they invest billions of dollars so I hope that they don't overlook this extremely small position they have...So having said that, I hope they are hovering over this and ensuring that any misstep results in a change of leadership.

By the same token 007, if they invest billions and lose a few million (the level they have invested in SIO) then the performance of other investments should offset the potential loss on SIO if it all goes down the drain, particularly given how stocks in general have performed over the past 2-3 years. So not such a PR disaster for Caisse as they could bury it in the P&L and it would look more ...more

Like I said many times the Caisse has a mandate from the Province to help Quebec Companies. They had been part of SIO PPs at least three times ,most likely four since June 2006. I am surprised they have not acted yet since they have the Control to exercise changes. What can they do and how remains their call, depending on results we may see something soon, I have said this before but how ...more

Very pertinent point Sailor. I bet mgmt feels like they're eating government cheese...I hope Cassie sets them straight and profits from their investment.

Preaching to the choir, YoungGun- or, should I say half a choir and half a group of unsaveable heretics? :)  No later than yesterday, I was called "stupid" by a member of this board for asking for an official source announcing the availability of 3DGO on all Samsung 3DTVs. Apparently I should have been frantically refreshing the PDF format availability list hidden deep within the ...more
