SPB's fourth quarter report
Looking at the upbeat third quarter financial report of SPB and the steady slide of share price of
the company, I am totallydismayed. Is there a major difficuly the BOD is yet to disclose?
What accounts for this very negative trend of share support be the institutions?
Are we going to get hit with an anpleasant surprise by the year-end finanacial report?

Retail selling so they can buy propane for heating.

I don't think things are that bad, I've been buying since it hit $9.50 down to today picking up at $9.28 My average is still around $10.60 but I will keep collecting the juicy dividend until things on the stock performance side turn around.

I just added another 5000 shares at 9.28.. looking at the chart you can comfortably add at this level.. great way to build a large position..

itsalie, I do have a fairly large position, over 40k. That is why I am not jubilant and nobody had any answers so far as to why this slide is goin on.

Three reasons: 1. Too much debt and institutions are not buying because of the high debt level to EBITDA. They have meet8 gs with big institutions but as you can see it is not turning into net buying. 2. I think M&B is unloading regardless of management saying they are not and have not sold anything since the big block sale. 3. Warm weather and people think results will be impacted. GLTA

Won't speculate on #2 but I agree #1 is a fact and #3 is an influential perception (and probably correct, but the market tends to overreact, regardless). Probably a good time to buy if you aren't already overweight.

They have too much debt. If you have not noticed the have stopped rolling up propane businesses. Analysts were all over them on quarterly calls to demonstrate the synergy from them and show above average return. Wonder why the are not rolling up propane in any material way? Too much debt. If debt comes under 3x then shares will start moving.
