People, everything is okay with UUU

People, everything is okay with UUUAll will be resolved in short order! -------------------------------------------------------- Kazatomprom to Resolve Sulphuric Acid Shortage for ISL Mining Kazakshtan’s National Atomic Company Kazatomprom announced today that it will resolve the shortfall of sulphuric acid supplies at uranium mining facilities by the first of next year. While the company will continue to receive sulphuric acid from its primary suppliers, Kazakhmys and Kazzink, it has concluded contracts with new suppliers in Uzbekistan. Kazatomprom expects to receive about 10,000 tons of sulphuric acid by the end of 2007, a company statement said. In addition, the subsidiary uranium mining companies of Kazatomprom are continuing negotiations with Russian enterprises, such as the Uralsky Mining-Metallurgical Plant and Atompromtex, for delivery of additional quantities of sulphuric acid to Kazakhstan beginning in 2008. Kazatomprom also reported that in May 2008, a new sulphuric acid plant will begin operating in Balkhash with a capacity of 1.2 million tons annually. Earlier this week, Uranium One announced that shortages of sulphuric acid would impact the start-up of the South Inkai and Kharasan uranium projects in Kazakhstan (Nuclear Market Review, October 31, 2007). While the supply problem is being corrected, Kazatomprom cautioned that adjustments to the uranium production schedule in the first half of 2008 may still occur. [top]
