Could be not so good news

Could be not so good newsCurrently, there are no major sources of ex China graphitic annode material available to U.S. EV battery makers.
That includes both natural and synthetic.
In order for the IRA tax credit to apply, an exemption will have to be issued by some U.S. government entity.
I believe that will be the only way for the credit to apply, at least until annode material can be be produced at scale by ex China sources, and that may take a while.
Syrah's production in the near term will not come even close to satisfying the demand.
It will be interesting to see how they will get it here from China. Surely it will be kept top secret.
After all the hype about the credit, it is doubtfull that the current administration will settle for getting egg on its face.
However, with all that is going on politically, this issue may not even get any attention from the press or otherwise.
