The people of Canada voted for the legalization of cannabis. Health Canada has proclaimed that IT, not the people will determine who has access to LEGAL cannabis.
Health Canada's failure to provide the equal and timely distribution (always better done by a free market) has almost ensured that legalized cannabis within Canada fails before it ever had a chance of success. The complete bungling of the supply chain through its onerous, over protective and bureaucratic logistics has caused more harm to the fledgling industry than it has helped.
These overly bureaucratic processes have proven to actually enhance and encourage the Black Market. Business has never been better for illegal cannabis in the new Health Canada created Black Market of weed. Those Canadians who voted for and have legal rights to use cannabis have been left with no option but to go back to their drug dealers funded by organized crime, because our government run bureaucrats have decided they are the Czars of cannabis and have forsaken Canadians for their own political power grab. The reality is Health Canada has proven incompetent and unable to fulfill its duty as the Canadian intermediary in this new and LEGAL industry. Health Canada should step aside and let industry manage supply.
Health Canada's boondoggle has and will continue to cost Canadian taxpayers millions as it continues to fail in its ability to execute.
Remove Health Canada from the distribution and licensing of Canadian LPs, it has proven itself to be lacking in every sense of the word.
