I personally prefer companies that invest organically into their own ideas than to simply purchase another company at outrageous multiples. It can often times be cheaper to do it this way. 

Companies that rely on acquisition to grow their business can be hiding something about their true organic growth. Investors may be duped into buying a company that is showing revenue growth but the true business is really suffering. 

I look at it this way. If a steak is well barbequed then why do you need ketchup?
