RE:Doug Ford, wine and beer. When France and Italy are having difficulty selling all the wine they make (France is paying 200M euros to dump excess wine), there is a world wide problem of over-production and declining demand which is not working in this company's favour.
Domestically in Canada, we also have excess production capacity and declining demand as the boomers are starting to expire (the oldest boomers are soon turning 78!) and the younger demographics are not consuming the same amount of wine.
I'm not surprised at the family disagreements. I think the number of failed attempts to move the CEO position out of the family demonstrates the difficulty of leading a family business in a structurally difficult environment.
