CEO

A CEO should talk about facts, tell the investors the truth about his company. LB said 'Sangdong is on schedule and on budget'. Can he keep his words?
Comment by Mrsprott on Apr 11, 2022 9:58am
He hasn't kept his word in years. The "imminent" financing completion line has been used for three years. Don't hold your breath.
Comment by GaiusGermanicus on Apr 12, 2022 12:15pm
Sure, as long as you can tell the difference between keeping his word and predicting the future.
Comment by QuarterDollar on Apr 12, 2022 12:45pm
As a CEO, integrity is really important so keeping his word is also important. But as a person who deals with automation, I go more by behaviors, patterns, and the a person's actions i.e. actions speak louder than words. Everything you want to know about a person, just observe their actions.  I don't take a lot of stock in words.

I'm happy so far.  He's secured a favorable loan, kept dilution down, and kept at least some progress visible despite the chaos unleashed by both the pandemic and the business disruptions that went with it.  Now future entrants to the new tungsten mine development will be paying post inflation rates on their loans.  Meanwhile we'll be building out on what now almost ...more

Yup......totally agree......exciting times.  This is why I want us to get this going so we can purchase another mine in addition to getting the Moly and Valtreixal up and running.  I really want to see that happen before 2028. If we can do this, it will be cheddar (profit) on cheddar. It will position Almonty to be on the path of major growth regardless of inflation. We will have ...more

From the Investor Presentation.......actually by 2030, Almonty is expected to have $340M minimum in the bank.  That is after paying off the loan.  Considering we are adding $50m to the already $75m loan, making the loan $125m. We will be at max production capacity 3 at least years sooner, plus the WO3 plant will give us $20m extra profit per year i.e. $60m over those 3 years ...more

Oh.... I didn't finish my point.... (distracted at work). Almonty can buy a very nice mine for $300m.

Good chunk of shares just traded on TSX  We have not had this kind of volume in months FWIW whois
Comment by QuarterDollar on Apr 13, 2022 4:46pm
darn.....
Comment by chizzles on Apr 24, 2022 9:20pm
Not sure what to think of this but it seems that that chunk of shares was Lewis Black selling. Hopefully using that money to put toward a participation in a future financing for the additional $50MIL?  Thoughts? thanks for posting. that is a head scratcher.... and not in a good way
Comment by QuarterDollar on Apr 25, 2022 9:33am
I wouldn't worry about it. If LB starts dumping all of his shares, I would be more concerned. The mining mills, etc. are suppose to be delivered in May so they are already manufactured and should already be in tranport.
Comment by GastownGuy on Apr 25, 2022 10:12am
so when the ceo, who is also one of the largest shareholders in the company, dumps all his shares that's when we should get concerned. ok thanks, got it
Comment by QuarterDollar on Apr 25, 2022 12:33pm
Gastown, I think you are a little more intelligent than dumping all of your shares based upon one metric alone.

Firstly :- You should be working and not posting while at work, "unless" you are the Boss. lol. Secondly :- How the hell do you do all your posts using a phone ? I have trouble doing two finger typing on a full size keyboard. Thirdly :- Is there a specific mine that you are thinking about for $300 mil ? I'm sure the Tungsten mine community is watching this project with great ...more

Actually I am very fortunate in my job. Most of the time I am left alone to dream and design. I have been working from home for 20 years and I work flex hours. I have many computer systems, keyboards laptops, devices and monitors in front of me......switching between stuff can get tricky some times. I just mentioned that according to the presentation, we should have $300M to buy ...more

Understood. Cool bananas. There is the point that Almonty had a 640k throughput, then to increase to 1.2 mil. The first part was for Plansee/GTP. The second part seems to have been in play for many many years with South Korean Govt. and maybe LG/Samsung. Of course Lewis will not say anything until it is writen in ink. But I think this deal has been in play since the start with the latter ...more

Well on this point, I gonna have to disagree with you. In my opinion, this is opportune timing.....being at the right place at the right time. Plus LB doing the right thing such as establishing a reputation of reliable delivery, negotiating a deal with Plansee, and negotiating the lowest interest rate loan with KFW. No one anticipated the shortage of semiconductor chips. In fact when COVID ...more
