RE:RE:VegaVega I don't hold ANY hard feelings. life is too short.
A few things for you to consider and look into:
#1 The province of Quebec heats their homes using hydro which is much cheaper there than the rest of Canda due to the enormous James Bay/Manic Hydro projects.
#2 The article you posted dealt with a European politician's view. Europe does not have access to large reservoirs of natural gas. They mostly get it from Russia through 4 lines owned by GAZprom. Russia has used their gas deliveries to influence political trends in Europe and has occasionally threathened to cut delivery (which they have done twice). So Europe has a much different outlook than we do when it comes to natural gas.
#3 There are a number of environmental issues connected to going green and the cost would be enormous for us. Since we have infra already in place, the idea of Canadians throwing out the gas delivery infra and replacing it with something that just isn't as efficient (at the moment) , would be very expensive, and would produce it's own (but different) environmental issues and would be economically suicidal. Better to improve technology to allow our natural gas to burn more efficiently.
#4 That's great to have all these wonderful ideas on how to save the planet BUT when nearly half the world's population (India and China) are still using COAL it becomes a waste of money. Our air will eventually be as polluted as their air. BTW India and China have a smaller carbon footprint than we do. Except that 90% of the population can't afford cars, trips etc.
What happens when vehicular ownership per capita reaches similar levels to what we have here in North America?
Anyhow I digress...Thx for the info and Good Luck
Fyi: I don't know anything about the Kardashians. I think in about 1000 years people will generally make fun of our present culture and what passes for music art and entertainment.
