New to the board question

Any thoughts if the Michigan governor pulls the plug on Enbridges pipeline. Will refineries in Sarnia be forced to ship by freighter to points east?
Does Algoma have the capacity to capitalize on this?

Having the largest fleet of tankers in the great lakes I would assume they could switch to oil pretty quick. I think Buffet bought into rail when a lot of the Alberta pipelines started getting shut in.

Not quite that easy but yeah they could ship oil. It would be a huge backward step for the environment. If you read the history of line 3, and other pipelines, they were built to avoid the environmental damage that would/could occur with increased tanker traffic. I'm ok with alc shipping iron ore instead. When oil went near zero or below last year the fleet could have been used to store some ...more
