RE:RE:RE:RE:curiousGreat question. First, Altius is not my only investment. It is not flat to me in that my cost basis is much lower than today's 11 - 12.00. So I'm ahead by around 5 - 7 % per year. That's okay, not great.
Full disclosure, I did expect Altius's share price would be further ahead than it is. That said, the market will re-rate the shares. My experience in this commodity space is that can happen without warning. Finally, Altius's business model makes sense to me. I understand it. The capital efficiency and disciplines management delivers makes this a great investment. I view it as safe money. Can you believe I said that about a company in the commodity space? Believe me, I've made millions and lost millions in the stock market. You can make a million or two with Altius (depending on your stake) but it has all the potential to be a Royal Gold or Franco Nevada. It is a spectacular value play ala Warren Buffet. Think Prem Watsa (Fairfax). Buy and hold unless you have the guts and luck to trade Altius. It's volatility measurement is around 32%.
