Feeling sad & depressed, any chance this hits $1 next year?

Even after averaging down heavily on Argonaut, my average is still above $2.50. I've lost so much money on Argonaut and other stocks, I'm feeling really sad and depressed. The whole gold mining sector is taking a beating, what if gold goes down to $1700, or $1600, or $1500, or lower? How long can this downturn last?

WIth first pour for Magino in March, 2023, only 9 months away, is there any chance this hits $1?

I'd love to hear some opinions on this and just any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. I know it's unlikely I'll ever break even on this stock, but even if I could get back half of my money I'd be happy.

Right now, the metals sector is being bludgeoned. Since May, gold and silver are the most affected. Copper has followed with a good correction in the last three weeks. Right now, inflation, rising interest rates, a stronger U.S. dollar and the war in Ukraine are driving most metals lower. When the FED finishes its rate hike around November, the dollar will start to correct and the metals will ...more

RichestoRagz  Argonaut puked with the Magino development financing. Magino has 5Million oz in the upper 300 meters and Mexico Opps are producing well over 200k OPY now. Magino s going to be a monster a couple years in. Going forward  Magino now fully financed, is expected to be on schedual for 1st pour on March 2023.  Thats going to put them over 300k oz/yr soon enough looking ...more

Take care and don't be so hard on yourself Richestoragz. No one can predict the future, we all only make our best guesses with the information we have at the time. The important thing is to cheer up, and take good care of your health so you can be blessed to be around and see what happens. You pretty much nailed it, Sclarda. The $375 million market cap you mention must of included the 1/2 million share dilution as the current market cap is only $175 million.    My only concern about AR is the management. Either they out maneuvered by the banks on this deal or they colluded with them. They essentially handed control of the company to them as the 10 investment firms will ...more

I've been an investor in AR for over 10 years and I feel kicking Dougherty to the curb was akin to throwing the baby out with the bath water. He built the company from a 50 k producer to one that will soon be 8x that amount. He picked up magino for a song from Prodigy gold by capitalizing AR's brief high stock price in 2012. He masterminded the Alio merger. And did all this without miring ...more

I'm not sure taking over 3 producing gold mines generating over a 100 million in cash flow and a flag ship mine half built is "inheriting a big mess".  If Dougherty had any fault it was his inability to stop the hyena's from stalking and eventually taking down his company. We've all seen those animal snuff movies where some noble beast is pursued and eventually ripped to ...more

Have agree with you, never thought they would do a issue at rock bottom prices. And also didn't think it would get filled this fast, and then to top it off, didn't think I would buy shares at .415. Being an investor for over 30 years. One thing is forsure, that is, nothing is forsure.

Totaly agree with you, bought some at 42 yesterday and dumped early this AM, pulled my bid .0405 as feeling enough power there to go into .30 s. This is summer no interest anywhere.
Comment by crazytimes on Jul 06, 2022 2:03pm
I am holding in here.  A 90% off sale is good enough for me. I don't have to wait for 91% off. As for summer interest, there was enough interest to sell approx. $200 million worth at .45cents a few days ago. In my calculations there is considerably more upside, hopefully in dollars, compared to downside in pennies from here. Holding for brighter days with Magino running. Just my opinion.& ...more

If its such a deal why are they selling? (large volume) ?
Comment by crazytimes on Jul 06, 2022 2:28pm
Only about one million dollars canadian worth of shares traded around today. Compare that with the $200 million USD invested a few days ago?
Comment by ppp on Jul 06, 2022 2:35pm
What needs to happen is insiders need to buy. I see only one took part in the issue.
Comment by glory7 on Jul 06, 2022 2:37pm
Almost 5 million shares traded, over 2m$.

You certainly seem to know a lot, but avoid explaining the elephant in the room. If there is 2 parties at a table negotiating a confidential deal, how do the shorters know what's in the press release. It happened in the December announcement, the March PR and again 2 weeks ago. Maybe you noticed the shorts doubled again to 44 million. People don't just pull that amount of their a s s on a ...more

Thanks for all the positive and encouraging responses. The new analyst price targets of between $1.25 - 1.50 sounds reasonable, especially if they're able to successfully have the first pour for Magino on schedule in March. If this trades in that range I'd be extremely happy even though my average cost is significanlty higher than that. Gold miners have been absolutely destroyed the past ...more
