RE:ARE BUYBACKS A WASTE OF CAPITAL?Buybacks are the reason for lack of shareholder interest in holding ARX shares.
Any benifit because of the buyback, just got flushed with the resent pull back and you are no futher ahead.
ARX is in the business of oil and gas exploration and development, they failed at hedging and cost shareholder billions, now they are failing them with share buyback that only facilitate day traders to trade in and out of the stock, leaving the shareholders holding the bag.
Eric Nuttal showed Arx shareholder the ins and outs of that trade.
The issue is that with 7% returns and with ARX paying a measly dividend why would anyone own it with the lack lusture share appreciation, it costs you money to hold the stock while management plays their balance sheet games.
Shareholder don't even get paid to own the stock, and with the share buybacks, ARX got behind of Capex with zero growth, and now are accelerating their Capex Program.
So shareholders of ARX will be sitting holding the bag, with poor performance and an Accounting driven company.
It is stupid to buy back share right now which cash money, capital is in such a short supply and so valuable. They could be getting 7% return on capital just having it in the bank, will they make more buying back shares, maybe, but not without a lot more risk.
I thought ARX was an energy company? not a company run by and accounting group that have failed the shareholder in a horrible manner.
IMHO
