ATH has already completed everything on the business side that other Canadian oil companies are striving to achieve.  Share dilution will be the only anchor on the share price. The $4.00 share estimates are certainly warranted given the production and cost profile, but it simply won't happen with 600m FD shares outstanding.

Why it won't happen. $2,400,000, 000 Market Cap is more than fair right now considering all the pluses that you mention. If it was taken out in a takeover the price would be $4.50 to $5.00 right now. So why isnt $4.00 possible. Remember it is likely that there will never be another brownfield heavy oil project ever again.  We have a heavy oil competition soon with the TMX Pipeline ...more

Been waiting for a takeover for the past two years. With almost 40K BPD production alomg with the substantial tax write offs I thought it would be just a matter of time before a large cap would swallow ATH up ( and it may happen some day) but obviously too much dilution at present time.  I'm out. Will give BTE an opportunity to continue my journey to fight inflation. Later...

I don't believe that the share count argument is the main reason, why no buyout has been attempted.  Most energy producers are all strengthen  their balance sheets . Or returning value back to their shareholders .  The lean years are still very fresh in the minds, of management teams. Does anybody on this board want to see ATH, borrow a bunch of money to expand operations?  ...more
