What is it with Canadian company halts?

Like AM, halted a whole day and still no news. I think it took 2-3 days for AM to drop their bombshell.

Can't these guys put the news out half an hour after the halt like American companies?

This is lame and ridiculous.

Agreed, a bit lame to make shareholders wait so long and wonder about their investment here. It is important to know the contract got extended, heck Alberta's basically a cash cow for the company. But did it warrant such a long wait for shareholders to hear this news? As far as the market reaction goes........ despite this good news, any move up it will eventually be brought back down.
