Anybody Else Here Buying
With these crazy new lows every day, are any of you adding to your shares? Or are you too shell-shocked and wary after the refinancing dilution? I was fortunate to not first invest until late May, and I have been adding shares the last couple of days. The recent rebel attacks have certainly affected investors, and many longer-term shareholders have bailed.
As a new investor here, my take is probably no different than most past investors - Banro has tremendous deposits, valuable mining equipment and production facilities, and favorable tax treatment. They should be able to modestly grow production and increase profitability using existing cash flow. Yet, this stock is trading at prices far below many junior explorers who have yet to prove a single deposit. And if gold prices spike, this stock will outperform 99% of other producers. But of course there is still the political risk. But at this stock price that risk is covered several times over. Of course, all of this doesn't mean that the share price cannot drift lower still.

The stock is up 17% off it's 52 week low last week, which is a welcome stop of the bleeding. Volume is also much lower, which suggests that most who wanted to get out at any price have done so. Perhaps some bottom feeders will come now that a bottom seems to have formed. The fundamentals are compelling.

To invest here, you have to believe that Congo can keep the peace. The fact that the Chinese are heavily invested in Banro gives me some measure of confidence. The refinancing wasn't pleasant, but the Chinese investors did leave a piece of the company for the shareholders. The resource is so outstanding, and Banro is so well positioned, the upside justifies a lot of risk taking.
