JC is a techy, unlike Elon Musk, he maybe can't clearly get his vision/strategy across to his investors. When he twitted " quantum resistant code" , I'm pretty sure not every one without IT background can grab what he's talking about. But when Musk twitted " a private fund is gonna take Tesla private " when Tesla under shorter's attack, everyone got it.
Imagine it's 2040 now, you are in the autonomous car, having your zoom meeting, doing online banking etc, and you look out and see the Amazon 24/7 driverless truck delivering your online order passing by. Then ask yourself what is the most important thing in these scenarios. I think your answer will be " Autonomous driving security and automobile cyber security " . Isn't it easier for you to understand how important BB will be as he is one of the major players in those fields. Those are the reasons JC bought cylance for based on his interview and he integrated Cylance with BB to provide cyber security products too. One stone two birds!
Auto industry is going through the technology disruptions now. EV trend is set and then autonomous-driving cars and flying cars....so In the future, one of the major differentiators of automobile won't be how good the engine is , it will be how safe is the autonomous driving.
for BB investors now , it is difficult to imagine those sci-fi scenes will come true. But it is happening! Can Apple early investors in 90s and early 2000 imagine we can do everything on the Apple touchscreen mobile phone now?
Anyway proof is in the puddings. Hope one day we can laugh at ourselves that today we are still discussing how much JC is paid !
