BlackBerry added Quantum resistance In 2018

Current public-key cryptography is expected to be broken by a large-scale quantum computer within 7-10 years, causing widespread vulnerabilities and putting your organization and your customers' privacy and security at risk.
Transitioning to new cryptographic standards — such as quantum-safe cryptography (also called post-quantum, quantum-resistant) — is complex and could take large enterprises and governments at least a decade.
Stay ahead of threats to cryptography, reduce crypto-related breaches and cut switching costs to new standards by integrating crypto-agility and quantum-safe security now.

NEW YORK – October 4, 2018 – BlackBerry Limited (NYSE: BB; TSX: BB) announced today that it is adding a quantum-resistant code signing server to its array of cryptography tools. The new solution will allow software to be digitally signed using a scheme that will be hard to break with a quantum computer.

This is incredibly great for us.....IMO

A little conspiracy theory to start the morning. I think I'm starting to connect some dots here. No question in my mind that Lazaridis  is the main visionary for a group that's about to become  a big player in the Quantum Computing field, if not already. Chen is obviously on friendly terms, patient and not looking for the quick hit but I can feel a crescendo building ...more

Apologize for today's overuse of bandwidth .....Another alumnus. How is he or his company connected to current research & deveopment at BB or partners? D-Wave gets a logo icon in here. If I'm reading this right his company advises senior cyber executives. Expert in cryptography, practically wrote the book and it was his brainstorm to developed Quantum Computer security.
