RE:Without regrets, this fall, after 30 years on BBD.bSurprising that you look at your 30 years return for 1 stock. Bombardier is so different that it was 10, 20 and 30 years ago. What is the meaning of the 30 years return ?
The 1994 Bombardier and the 2024 bombardier has only the name in common, everything else are different. All companies makes changes in 30 years but usually they are still in the same industry sector as they were in the past. Not Bombardier from rail and snowmobiles to business jets only with huge success and disgrace in commercial aircrafts in between.
My thoughts is that the old bombardier end its life somewhere in the 2015-2020 period and we had a new one since 2021.
You had a loss with the old one and your decision to stay invested in 2020 gave you a positive return.
Looking at a 30 years return will disturb your decision making without any add value.
