Below is canaccord trades for the last month.. from the looks of things, the 4 million may very well have been shorting by them or their clients. They were clearly in the negative during the last month. Broker Positions for C:BBD.B Broker #33 from 20211001 to 20211029 Date Bought $Val Ave Sold $Val Ave Net  ...more

Canaccord also has a good stake in hedge funds through castle ridge so not surprised that they be involved in shorting high numbers.
Comment by georges44 on Oct 29, 2021 10:42am
As you can see in the whole month they sold 4,161,085 shares but@ they sold 4,026,946 yesterday and 32,135 shares in the rest of the month. Yes they are shorting the stock but not in the last month

Yup They started back selling at the 2.05-2.06 level.. They are clearly IMO shorting and cud very well be naked shorting.
Comment by clubhouse19 on Oct 29, 2021 1:13pm
They are at 4.8 million selling now...so in 1 1/2 days over 9 million shares sold by canaccord that has been mitigated by being absorbed by the market..A plus if you are looking for positives

Nice work club. I don't like it when Canaccord starts showing up, for me their presence is bad news, but I've been wrong before. Naked shorting a real possibility here too. Imagine borrowing and selling shares that you don't yet exist with a simple note to your broker saying your dog ate the order. Canadian regulators are ok with that.
Comment by Hedgetrimmer on Oct 29, 2021 1:27pm
Sorry...should read shares that don't yet exist in previous post

Kind of ironic that you cannot counterfeit money but you are allowed to counterfeit publicly owned company shares.

Canaccord's activity Out of 1745 trades they placed  only 47 were on the buy side today Likely the same yesterday

Absolutely spot on. If you don't mind I'd like to use that comparison next time I talk with friends about shorting.

LOL Go right ahead

Club....do you think the hedgers have someone on the inside? One or more people who know the score before ER released. If I'm not involved and I'm the CEO then should I have the hard drives of  the company computers of those who do know impartially checked for suspicious activity including any other device they possess and owned by company that's connected to Internet in weeks ...more

Hedgetrimmer Personally, I don't think there is much illegal activity at the most very much unethical activity.  The problem is how the rules are set up that favor overwhelmingly the trading houses with their ability to create shares out of nowhere and don't really have to account for them for at least 10 days or that is what they can easily get away with. Canada is the only western ...more

Hedgetrimmer It is perfectly legal in canda to naked short as all they have to do is to have have a reasonable expectation to be able to settle in 3 days and even if they don't settle, there is at least 10 days before anyone becomes aware giving them plenty of time to cover their tracks. Only western country that has these very shoddy rules on naked shorting all for the sake of liquidity for ...more

I know naked shorting is legal in Canada, just being facetious with the 'dog ate the order' take. I think a naked shorter still has to register a valid reason as to why they're doing it. Didn't surprise me to see sp drop after news. Pretty much confirms shorting/manipulation going on. What drove sp up before that? Ans: speculation and a few hired guns to pump. They timed it pretty ...more

Agreed.  Naked shorting is a license to print money and profits for the institutions. The plus side of this activity is they have to buy them back so its really a short term trading strategy.  Knowing this,  a saavy market player can also ride along  them and profit from this activity.   We know BBD is turning the corner and on its to profitability and so does Cannacord... ...more
