Flying private is "like heroin" - Bill Maher

Anybody here catch Bill Maher's hilarious "admission" that he flies private? I saw it on HBO this week.  It was music to the ears of any Bombardier long. Once you've tried private jets, apparently, there's absolutely no going back. Wow, Eric Martel should get Bill to be our mascot! See summary below:

Bill Maher has a confession -- something he's kept under wraps for years -- he flies private, and if anyone expresses outrage they can suck it, because they'd do it too if they could.
Bill says, "Humans are not good people," and when asked to pitch in to save the environment, their response is, "What's in it for me?"
Now the confession ... Bill Maher flies private. There it is -- he's a polluter/offender, but at least he's honest about it.
He regales us with image after image of socially conscious people -- some huge environmental activists -- who are more than happy to jump on a private jet -- because they can. Just a few -- OprahGeorge ClooneyLeo DiCaprioPaul McCartneyHarry and MeghanStingBeyonce and Jay-Z, and on and on.
Bill believes anyone who could afford to fly private would absolutely do it. As he says, it's like heroin -- try it once and you're hooked.

he forgot to mention it is a status symbol ... if you fly private you are in the highest level , especially if you fly your own plane ( very few) ... nothing is worse than flying commercial and having to be grounded for 1 hour due to idiocracy from a passenger , getting to destination and luggage has been lost ... private/business flying will grow no matter what you hear about climate change  ...more

My takeaway is that this trend towards private, which got a huge boost through the disaster of COVID, is here to stay and will be self perpetuating. The skies are very blue for Bombardier!

Long ago, I flew on my company's GII for a many-legged tour of biz sites across the US.  Four finance executives and me.  The benefits vs commercial were enormous.  We landed at small airports very close to the sites, saving a lot of time.  Departures were a breeze, too: drive right up to the jet, get on board, and go.  We even had the pilot do a loop around one site ...more

...and in the case of the jets BBD is selling today, beyond the other obvious time savings and comfort advantages... the cabin is much quieter than commercial jets the cabin altitude is much lower there is much less turbulence at the higher altitudes they cruise at

Yeah, it's better than commercial in every way that matters.  And the luxury/glamour angle, sure, matters for some, but by far the most important th8ng overall is it's a very powerful biz tool.

That was actuallly one of Maher's points. He couldn't possibly keep up the hectic schedule he has without flying private. Some days he'll do his HBO show in LA in the early evening AND a standup comedy show just a couple of hours later in Vegas
