Just what the shorts are waiting for to attach again. We will not get this order. End of story. Boeing = corruption and major political pull. Sad but true so let's prepare for failure. Because it's a long shot at this point.
Comment by Noredneck on May 03, 2023 11:31am
Transit... he story that I get from serious people, news look promising for defence... However I understand your point if you try to short  this stock... this manipulation game won't last...
Comment by Shamhorish on May 03, 2023 11:36am
imo, you are right  most likly canada will find one million reason and one for not to include bbd, they rather select what the us army dropped as boieng jets stays in maitenance hangger 50% of the time, unless Trudeau gets involved as this decision will affect next election
Comment by Form001 on May 03, 2023 11:44am
Canada army will buy BBD jets, they have no choice. liberals needs Quebec votes. IMO
Comment by Noredneck on May 03, 2023 1:06pm
Form... Exactly!!!!

Imagine they would recieve the half of the 5 billion order..2.5 billion 60% upfront pay..the fcf would be ++++++.debt reduction would be much faster and higher than anticipated. In zhat case the SP will fast go to 180-200 cad imho
Comment by Shamhorish on May 03, 2023 1:45pm
yes offcourse, but in my opinion if  bbd get any thing at all will get max 25-30% of the order  i.e max 1.25 billion and that would be close to 2030
Comment by clubhouse19 on May 03, 2023 2:04pm
If they happen to get anything of consequence ...they should count their blessing considering the political enviroment here./
Comment by clubhouse19 on May 03, 2023 2:02pm
Trouble is Quebec keeps on burning their bridges and eat their own.  Sentiment across Canada may be that they would rather see Boeing get it than any in quebec.    Quebec keeps on asking while wanting to reciprocate less and less. not a good way to make friends oe allies.
Comment by Shamhorish on May 03, 2023 2:10pm
if that is the case, why they do not let them separate, the whole canada united to prevent quebec from separating, on the other hand never stop complaining about quebec, like husband and wife, DIVORCE and stop complaining
Comment by clubhouse19 on May 03, 2023 3:07pm
Whre have you been.. Quebec voted not to separate through I belive 3 referendums but they still like to play that card as blackmail !
Comment by MyNameIsNobody on May 03, 2023 4:08pm
Lol.. I'll just add 'Where have you been...' the last referendum for separation has taken place 28 years ago and it hasn''t been a viable threat for at least 20 years. Le parti Quebecois even finished 4th in the last provincial election.
Comment by flyman12 on May 04, 2023 10:55am
Shamborish. The PQ is now at 22%. Ahead of the Quebec Liberals and the Conservatives.  I would bet dollars to donuts that if another referendum was held tomorrow the ROCs response would be "salute Jack don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out"
Comment by Shamhorish on May 04, 2023 11:08am
LOL
Comment by clubhouse19 on May 04, 2023 11:37am
Not going to happen. It is the PQ that may hold another referendum not the rest of canada .   Quebec with the way they run their economy presently and wanting to continue their social programs , voting yes would be suicidal. The rest of Canada, even though they may not give a damn anymore, they (the feds) would still put on a good face for unity. But as I stated, they continually use the ...more

Just my opinion but, if anyone thinks the PQ and Quebec seperation from Canada are to come back into play, they are out to lunch and wrong. This statement is not political and is a simple reflection of today's reality. Of course there will always be the odd outliers and, that's about it:) GLTA

Club you said , but they still like to play that card as blackmail ! Now tell me who like to play that card ????
Comment by clubhouse19 on May 03, 2023 7:05pm
The Quebec government as they continually cry foul  and of course the Bloc that continually promote nationalism and sovereignty.   I guess you are not aware of this ?   A federal party promoting separation and get retirement benefits to boot for promoting a break up...and they still feel mistreated      And now you cry if they don't  get preferential ...more

And what about the reform party with Preston Manning, now they call them the Conservative party. Yes the ultra conservative members are from the https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reform_Party_of_Canada
Comment by MyNameIsNobody on May 03, 2023 8:21pm
Mauser - There were even other separatists movements in Alberta and at least one in Saskatchewan. The only difference with Le Bloc is Le Bloc is succesful in its longevity.  There's no discussing this matter with Club, when it's not the provincial government of Quebec it is its federal version, Le Bloc, that he complains about. Maybe it's just a big case a Quebecer eating its ...more

My name Call it whatever you want .. There is no doubt that Quebec is its own worst enemy and trying to equate some out there separatist movement out west to the bloc or Quebec nationalism is quite a stretch. This province has the knack to shoot itself in the foot while continuing to blame others.  I have seen it all ...the politics do affect how the bomber is treated...no question about it ...more

Totally agree. This government and the ones before are a bunch of corrupt pacifist freeloaders. Our total armed forces couldn't fill a US university football arena. Their equipment is made up of other nations throw aways. Some other nations with less GDP have their own home made aircraft and other military equipment. We don't pull our weight in nato or norad. 'Pacifist' should never be used as an insult.
Comment by clubhouse19 on May 03, 2023 12:52pm
I guess the opposite of pacifist may be war monger whre all disagreemnts are solved with violence.     A pacifist is simply someone that doesn't first choose  war and violence to settle a dispute...quite a difference when having to defend yourself.  USA as a % of gdp spend about 150% more than canada..Canada though is not considered nor expected to be the ...more

Transit - I understand were you come from with the pessimism but if you expect failure that's most likely what you're going to get. It's a long shot but it's better than not shot at all.
