That would be from my office to the family room. Do I open up my ceilings to run this cable or just let it lie on the floors. Sounds like fun, or, I could get cable and save a lot of work and expense.
Cheers, Thomas
What does cable vs DSL have to do with it? As majortom said, it's your wireless access point that's the issue. If you get cable but your wireless access point is the same, you're still going to have the same problem. Or if the issue is that your wireless access point is going through a bunch of walls to where you're wanting to access wifi, you'll still have the same issue.
In addition to fiddling with your wifi settings, you can also buy a wifi repeater/extender for $30 on sale at NCIX that just plugs into a wall socket.
Also, if your Wireless Access Point is built into your DSL router and you've had your router for a long time, they might replace it for free to get you on the newer hardware standard that may give better wifi range.
