The Companys investment objectives are (i) to provide holders of Preferred Shares with cumulative preferential floating rate monthly cash dividends at a rate per annum equal to the Prime Rate plus 0.75%, with a minimum annual rate of 5.0% and a maximum annual rate of 7.0% (ii) to provide holders of Class A Shares with regular floating rate monthly cash distributions targeted to be at a rate per annum equal to the Prime Rate plus 2.0%, with a minimum targeted annual rate of 5.0% and a maximum targeted annual rate of 10.0% and (iii) to return the original issue price to holders of both Preferred Shares and Class A Shares at the time of the redemption of such shares on December 1, 2012.

RE:Split Funds Tanking ...Great points. I think one of the big problems with split shares is that there is a large subset of investors that are lured by the large monthly paid yield and the high quality holdings without a full grasp of what they invested in. A long term investor should absolutely average down. This is much easier to do with a straightforward equal weight fund. The split share class A shares have inherent volatility by design. This is why it's such a great instrument for daytraders, and short term investors. It doesn't mean it's a bad instrument for buy and hold investors, they just have to be very careful about their entry/exit points and be prepared to endure a bumpy ride of wild price fluctuations and temporary distribution halts at times.
