Carena, I think the Shorts must already have a way out. You have to be CRAZY to be shorting at these levels without a back-up plan....ie, able to obtain shares privately or some sort of option taken out to limit risk.

You see it all the time.... A HUGE outstanding short position suddenly significantly shrink but open trading volume and share price movement doesn't suggest that the shares were covered in the open market.

On whole, I think Shorts are Experts at Psychology and Market Trading to empty peoples pockets.

When I put my Good Till Oct 31 limit sell orders in,,,, Share prices just TANKED. I get the feeling Shorts were at it hoping I would follow them down and sell at the bottom.

All just my opinion/view/thinking
