so yes a couple of US banks up to no good (1st hi tech start-ups and then 2nd crypto-crack lending ) go under BUT NO RETAIL depositors will lose out . Now you have what??? CREDIT SUISE possibly going under, this is probably the worst bank in EUROPE , having had all sorts of capital related issues made worse by a series of bad management actions FOR YEARS NOW. CONTAGION??? hardly, and out of it you get a near $14 slide in WTI in barely a week??? While I'm not a fan of the financial system I did notice that everyone is still driving their cars buying stuff manufactured with oil using Natgas for heating or cooling homes and buildings and power electric grids. I've always found it odd that oil can melt down yet consumption doesnt. Love the markets they are nuts.

I don't think it's a scam. These are real risks. People are trying to price in that risk to the price of oil. A recession would have a significant impact on demand, if it comes to pass.
