RE:RE:RE:RE:NEW HERE

RE:RE:RE:RE:NEW HERELily, that read of your experience in Toronto RE brought back memories of the 15 years i lived in Ottawa, and the 4 duplexes me and my friends bought.

What courage and vision you had to take the right kind of risks at the right time. Amazing.

You see, our family grew up dirt poor - literally. My grandfather sold his soul  and luxuries accompanyiny a debt free life to leverage up and obtain as much land as he could. He grew up son of poor Irish potato famine farmers, and wanted to give his family a better life.

So he buried himself in debt to do so.

My father carried the baton when he died... and we (my father, mother, brother, sister) grew up on the edge of bankruptcy (almost happened twice too). We sold our souls to the bank so we could mtg several hundred more acres, and live in squalor ...always jealous of the other  kids at school who's parents didn't fight about money, played in sports leagues, had new cars and nice clothes... for what??? what was the gain? What did this land do for us?? I remember being so mad...

Well now none of us have to work anymore (which  is good because I can't).... i'll copy in the details of my accident i sent to my friend:
_____________________________________________________
Mostly in the woods, field, trailer

So I’m on disability now, the last picture is me post-accident.  I was in a bad car accident and I got a severe brain injury last Dec(2019). My speech, vision and balance are most affected. [me now- they’re trashed lol
But I wanted to sell myself, but still be honest in the dating blurb). I used to be a business valuator for the CRA, took accounting in Ottawa U.

I have a 10 month old daughter living with my ex. She was born when I was in the coma.

I was passed out in the passenger seat, and my former friend decided to take my car for a drive. He was drunk, and shouldn’t have been driving. From the police report, they estimate that he was going between 150 and 180 when he went off the road and crashed.

He got both legs broken, but they’ve healed. I didn’t litigate yet, but probably will. He hasn’t apologized, let alone paid me back for the car. I can’t remember the crash, or most of 2019. I was in a coma for 3 weeks, and a wheelchair till March. Basically I almost died. Sorry for the details, but I couldn’t not tell you.

[me now again: I’ve since litigated, and I’ll get the insurance part ($xxx million prolly) this fall. The other estimated $xxx million from the lawsuit might take a cpl years. But the key part is I’m finally a multi-millionaire now. Not how I expected-I had to almost die first..... but combined with our farm that’s worth $xxx million now.... I’ll be VERY wealthy. So I guess that, and my daughter, are the upside in all this misery lol]
