RE:RE:Where did the Pea Protein go?I think the concern comes down to the past track record. Burcon has been around for 15+ years and has held all of these products for most of that time. Partnerships have come and gone, market promises, large cash raises and new products.
Now its a partnership (kinda) with someone brand new to the food industry The new partners were successful in the Hemp industry, but food ingrediannts are not the same.
So investors and shareholders need to know the story and understand what is being developed and by who.
The path is not always clear:
-Is it Pea or Canola that is being developed?
- as it a protein ingrediant or a soluable drink ingrediant?
- are they selling the technology or a product?
- are the brand names for the protein or consumable products
- are there any customers yet?
- a factory will be built where one of the directors is a developer in the business park, so was that the best location.
- has the equipment been ordered and what does the leadtime and equipment consist of?
- there are currently no contracts for raw materials ( that I can find) so where will the process product come from?
- Burcon is a public company and has to be transparent and Merit is a private company and follows a different set of rules. So many questions need to be asked if one needs to understand the truth.
